‘House for a Lawyer’ is conceived as a sensitive extension to an existing single-storey dwelling, carefully negotiated parallel to the contours of a sloping site.

The intervention takes the form of a linear pergola, articulated through a light steel frame and brick wall assemblage, introducing a contemporary language that is materially and formally distinct yet referential to the pitched roof geometry of the original house. The pergola mediates between old and new, tempering light through controlled filtering while extending the primary living spaces outward, framing and orienting them toward expansive views across the slope.
